On Monday, November 26th, the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) announced the launch of its “Blockchain Academy.” This is the Kingdom’s first-ever blockchain program for professional qualification. Moreover, the program hosts a series of workshops and masterclasses.
The BIBF has collaborated with Dubai-based professional training provider myLearning Key. Also, the five-day training program will start on January 6th, 2019. Moreover, it will prepare the participants to get international qualification of Certified Blockchain Professional C|BP.
The C|BP Certification will help practitioners to catch up with the blockchain industry requirements. It will also contribute to developing the global standards for the industry. Furthermore, it also improves the core competencies of the practitioners in key areas like development, implementation, and strategy of blockchain technology.
During the course, students will get exposure to sustainable and scalable blockchain development. The certification course has a recognition the U.S.-based organization dubbed Institute of IIB Council.
The BIBF Director Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh expressed optimism on the launch of the new blockchain program:
“In alignment with the institute’s direction to position Bahrain as the IT Hub for training in the region and to adapt to market requirements, the BIBF continues to introduce new programs to develop the skills and knowledge of the Kingdom’s human capital. As we live in the era of digital innovation and technological advancements today, we are pleased to collaborate with myLearning Key and the IIB Council to introduce the first Blockchain Professional Qualification to support the growing demand for skilled blockchain professionals,” said Dr. Al Shaikh.
The official press release notes that the BIBF will also offer a series of masterclasses catering to both IT and business professionals. It will further help them to get professional knowledge about Blockchain Technology along with its potential applications.
Head of IT, Operations and Project Management, Mr. Ahmed Naeemi stated, “As the role of information technology is evolving towards digital innovation and transformation, the Blockchain Academy is one of our new initiatives in an attempt to support businesses and organizations with their digital transformation plans.”
A number of universities across the globe are considering to introduce blockchain courses for students. There’s a growing demand for blockchain experts as the technology finds its application across multiple business verticals.
Yesterday, CBW reported about Tezos Foundation signing a MoU with South Korea Yonsei University. The two will also work to spearhead and create blockchain talent.
