As cryptocurrency adoption deepens, Litecoin (LTC) is increasingly pushing its way into the mainstream. To the LTC community, it’s a awesome that your preferred coin can now pay for a lot of things, including Amazon Vouchers. In case you didn’t know before now, you learned it here. Notably, the founder of Litecoin, Charlie Lee, shared the good news when he purchased his own Amazon Voucher.
On 3rd October, Lee took to his Twitter account to announce that he had successfully purchased an Amazon voucher using his very own Litecoin. According to his tweet, he purchased the voucher using a cryptocurrency-enabled prepaid phone service provider BitRefill via the all-important Litecoin’s Lightning Network (LN). In a tweet that appears as though Lee was encouraging his followers to check it out themselves, Lee commended BitRefill even as he maintained the need for everyone to adopt Litecoin using the hashtag #PayWithLitecoin. Lee, who once disclosed he had sold off his LTC holdings, noted that he had a “great user experience” purchasing the Amazon card through the platform.
Unsurprisingly, Lee has been relentless and vocal in pushing the adoption of virtual currencies even in the face of a bear market. The influencer remains optimistic about the future of digital currencies despite the challenges they face. Lee points to his purchase of an Amazon card as an evidence of increased adoption. Without mincing words, purchasing an Amazon voucher is definitely one of the more practical uses of Litecoin. Not to mention, it shows the growing use cases of virtual currencies.
In summary, BitRefill allows prepaid mobile phone users to refill their mobile phones using cryptocurrency. According to its website, BitRefill has over 130,000 users, enjoying the app across 160 countries around the world. Apart from mobile phone refill, BitRefill also allows users to purchase the vouchers of various services, such as Amazon. In addition to Litecoin, the platform currently supports Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin (BTC), and Dogecoin (DOGE).
